Capturing Timeless Memories: Senior Portrait Sessions at Richfield Park, Davison

I have had the privilege of photographing numerous senior sessions at the stunning Richfield Park in Davison. With its picturesque landscapes and unique features, this location provides a perfect backdrop for creating timeless memories.

Why Richfield Park?

Richfield Park is a gem in Davison, offering a variety of beautiful settings that enhance every photo. Here are some of the standout features that make it an ideal location for senior portraits:

1. The Stately Stone Staircase

The stone staircase at Richfield Park adds an element of elegance and grandeur to your senior portraits.

Its timeless appeal provides a perfect setting for capturing both traditional and contemporary styles. Whether it's a formal outfit or casual attire, the staircase complements every look beautifully.

2. The Enchanting Wooded Bridge

The wooded bridge is another highlight of Richfield Park.

It offers a charming, rustic backdrop that adds depth and character to your photos. The bridge is especially beautiful during the golden hour, when the setting sun casts a warm glow, creating a magical atmosphere.

3. The River

While the river at Richfield Park may not be crystal clear, its natural, earthy tones add a contrasting water element to the stone and wood surroundings.

The reflections and gentle flow of the river bring a unique, dynamic aspect to your photos, enhancing the overall composition.

4. The Surrounding Trees

The lush trees around Richfield Park change with the seasons, offering a variety of looks throughout the year.

From the vibrant greens of spring and summer to the rich, warm hues of autumn, the trees provide a versatile and dynamic backdrop for your senior photos.

Planning Your Session

While Richfield Park is a popular spot for photography, it's especially busy on October evenings when the fall colors are at their peak. To ensure the best experience, here are a few tips for planning your session:

  • Book Early: October slots fill up quickly, so it's best to schedule your session well in advance.

  • Weekday Sessions: Consider booking your session on a weekday when the park is less crowded.

  • Timing: The lighting is absolutely the best at 8 AM when the park first opens, offering soft, flattering light that enhances every photo. However, I understand that not everyone's schedules can accommodate early morning sessions, so I offer evening sessions as well, which can also provide beautiful lighting.

  • Outfit Choices: Bring multiple outfits to take advantage of the park's diverse settings. I offer a portable changing tent for all of my senior sessions to make switching outfits a breeze. Layers and accessories can also add variety without requiring a full wardrobe change.
